Welcome to the 2024 Options Program! We're thrilled to assist you in acquiring fresh knowledge or enhancing your skills. Our courses and activities are engaging and enjoyable, led by seasoned experts who take pleasure in introducing individuals to their respective fields.

Fall 2024 Offerings:

Academic Tutoring and Test Prep
Reading Skills for Primary Grades 2
Open to grades 1st through 12th Improve academic skills through tutoring in Reading, Composition and Essay Writing, math Vocabulary Building and Phonics.  Learn Test Taking Skills and be prepared for the next grade!   Private & semi-private tutoring available. All tutoring takes place on the CSU campus.

Piano
Piano Teens and Adults
If you really want to be heard, make some music, not noise! Learn to play the piano in an electronic piano lab setting. Previous musical background is helpful but not required. Includes book fee!

This class, designed for men and women, introduces the principles and skills of weight training for health, fitness, athletic conditioning and body composition on state-of-the-art equipment. Your workout is closely supervised. Register early!

iDance Chicago Performing Arts Team is made up of energetic, and talented youth who love to dance. This highly motivated team will train dedicated members in the various aspects of performing arts (ballet, contemporary, ethnic, inspirational, character, acrobatics, hip hop dancing and drama).

Location: FCD 102
Thursdays:
  • Session II:10-3-24 – 11-21-24
  • Session III: 12-5-24 -2-6-25 (holiday break 12-26-24 and 1-2-25)
  • Session IV: 2-13-25 – 4-3-25
  • Annual Dance Production: Rehearsal 4-12-25 and show 4-13-25 – CSU Theater
Time: 5:30am - 8:30am
Age: Boys & Girls – Grades 2nd through 12th
FEE: $25
Additional fees will be required to be paid to the instructor for team t-shirts/jackets, costumes, and dance competitions to perform.

  2. Register in-person at:
    i. CSU Cashier’s Office: Cook Administration Building – Room 212
    ii. Options Program office: Jacoby Dickens Athletic Center, Room 201.
  3. Office hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Refer to the course descriptions for fees. Fees are payable by check, money order, American Express, Discover, Visa, or MasterCard. CTC/CSU Alumni Association (link to the alumni association page) members receive 15% off registration!
Registration is now open! The Spring 2024 session begins on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
  1. For students enrolled in Options classes, parking decals are available for $10.00 (please note, decals can be purchased at the parking booths with proof of registration). Otherwise, there is a general fee of $5.00 to enter the campus upon each visit. Students enrolled in the university's academic courses are not eligible for Options parking decals.
  2. For Seniors, 60 and over, enrolled in Options courses, receive FREE parking decals.
The university reserves the right to limit the size of classes and to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment.
  1. If you must cancel your course registration, we encourage you to send someone in your place by simply informing the Options department of the name change.
  2. Registration cancellations by phone or in writing must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the published course start date.
  3. Cancellation requests received before the seven-day deadline will result in fees being refunded, less a $10 administration fee – and processing may take six (6) to eight (8) weeks. We regret that no refund is available when a course registration is canceled after the seven-day deadline. Failure to read the information contained in this schedule does not constitute an exemption from stated regulations.
